Last week a packet, containing Lactobacillus Yoba 2010 bacteria for the production of probiotic drink Yoba, was shipped from Holland to Uganda. The frozen starter culture was produced by CSK food enrichment based in The Netherlands. After the clearing of the packet at the airport, I brought the starter culture to the Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI) for the storage at -40 °C. Experiments will be carried out using the new Yoba starter culture in the laboratories of UIRI in the next weeks.
